Looking for a Dieta alternative? Here's what changed and how PoopAI compares

We make PoopAI. Dieta details come from its App Store listing and its 2021 blog post, checked November 5, 2026.

What happened to the Dieta app?

Dieta announced stool image recognition in July 2021: its AI graded consistency, fragmentation, fuzziness, volume and Bristol type from a photo. The original Dieta app was later removed from the App Store, in December 2024. Today there's a newer listing, Dieta Stool AI Tracker, published by Vivante Health. One warning: the old bigdieta.com address now shows unrelated content, so don't follow old links there.

What does Dieta do well?

  • Photo-first. If you'd rather snap than choose, its whole flow is built around the photo.
  • Symptoms included. Meals and symptoms sit in one log, with export to a provider.
  • Free. Listed as free when we checked.

Why might someone choose PoopAI instead?

  • Android. PoopAI is on Google Play as well as the App Store.
  • Photos optional. Pick a Bristol type in a tap, or add a photo and let AI photo analysis speed things up.
  • Food triggers. Meals by photo or text with tags like dairy, gluten, FODMAPs and caffeine, summed up in weekly reports and trend charts.
  • Discretion. A stealth "HealthAI" mode, and pixelated photos on Android.

Bottom line

Dieta made AI stool photos mainstream, and its current app keeps that focus on iPhone. PoopAI is the quick, food-focused option on both iPhone and Android. Neither diagnoses anything: blood, black or dark red poo, or unexplained weight loss needs a doctor.

Quick answers

Is the Dieta app still available?

The original Dieta app was removed from the App Store in December 2024. A newer app, Dieta Stool AI Tracker by Vivante Health, is on the App Store for iPhone and iPad and was last updated September 28, 2026 when we checked on November 5, 2026.

Is bigdieta.com the Dieta website?

Not anymore. When we checked on November 5, 2026, that address showed unrelated content. Dieta's 2021 stool AI announcement now lives at dietahealth.com. Avoid entering health details on the old address.

Is there a Dieta app for Android?

We found only the iPhone and iPad listing on November 5, 2026. PoopAI is on both iPhone and Android.

Does PoopAI analyze poop photos?

PoopAI uses AI photo analysis to make logging faster: it helps you pick a Bristol type. Photos are optional, and it is a logging aid, not a diagnosis.

Can PoopAI log symptoms like Dieta?

No. PoopAI logs poops and meals only. If you want symptoms in the same app, Dieta logs them.

Can an AI stool photo diagnose a problem?

No app can diagnose from a photo. If you see blood, or black or dark red poo, contact a doctor whatever an app says.
