Your weekly gut report: the bit where it all clicks

One day of logs tells you almost nothing. Bodies vary, and one odd poop after a party is just Saturday. Patterns show up over weeks, which is exactly when memory gives out.

Doctors think in weeks too. The NIH says IBS is diagnosed partly by a pattern over time, such as symptoms at least once a week in the last 3 months, and it groups IBS types by what share of stools are hard or loose. A weekly view is the natural unit for that conversation.

Who is it for?

  • Anyone who wants to see whether a food change is helping
  • People preparing for a GP or gastroenterology appointment
  • People working with a dietitian who asks how the week went
  • Anyone who logs but never looks back

How does it work?

Step 1

Log as you go

Bristol types for poops, photos or text for meals.

Step 2

Let the tags build up

Trigger tags are added to meals automatically.

Step 3

Open your weekly report

Trend charts show your week at a glance.

Step 4

Compare weeks

Look for the same tags before the same kinds of days.

Food trigger tags

Meals get tagged for common suspects like dairy, gluten, FODMAPs and caffeine, and more.

What should I look for in a report?

QuestionWhy it helps
How many poops were type 1 or 2, and how many 6 or 7?The NIH sorts IBS types by whether more than a quarter of stools are hard or loose
How often did I go?Mayo Clinic gives a typical range from three times a day to three times a week; a change from your normal matters more than the number
Which tags came before looser or harder days? The NHS says food intolerance symptoms usually start a few hours after eating
Is this week different from last? The NHS lists a change in your poo that's unusual for you among signs to get checked

How do I use it at an appointment?

  1. Bring two to four weekly reports on your phone.
  2. Point to the weeks that changed, and the tags around them.
  3. Add your paper notes on pain, bloating or medicines, since PoopAI doesn't log those.

Our GI appointment guide has a full checklist.

What does a week of logs look like?

Week 1 Poops: 9 types 1-2: 0 types 3-5: 6 types 6-7: 3
Week 1 Tags before type 6-7 days: dairy (3 of 3)
Week 2 Poops: 8 types 1-2: 0 types 3-5: 8 types 6-7: 0
Paper note: week 2 switched to lactose-free milk

What do you log, and what don't you?

You log in PoopAIPoopAI doesn't log
Each poop as a Bristol type, 1 to 7, with an optional photoSymptoms such as pain or bloating
Meals by photo or textMood, stress or sleep
Trigger tags such as dairy, gluten, FODMAPs and caffeineFluids, medicines or periods
Times, so meals and poops line upFODMAP amounts or grams

Fewer fields is a choice: it keeps each log to a few seconds. If you want to remember a sore tummy or a stressful day, jot a paper note next to the date.

What about privacy?

  • Google Play Data safety (checked November 5, 2026): no data shared with third parties, no data collected, data encrypted in transit, and you can request deletion.
  • App Store privacy label (checked the same day): contact info may be linked to you; health data is not linked to you.
  • Stealth "HealthAI" mode disguises the app on your home screen, and the Android listing says poop photos are pixelated.

Quick answers

What is in the weekly report?

Your Bristol types across the week and trend charts that line them up with your meals and trigger tags.

Can I export the report as a PDF?

No. PoopAI doesn't export PDFs. You can show the report and charts on your phone.

How many weeks do I need?

Two to four weeks usually gives a clearer picture than one.

Does the report include symptoms?

No. PoopAI doesn't log symptoms. Bring paper notes for pain or bloating.

Will the report tell me what is wrong?

No. It shows patterns in your own logs. A doctor or dietitian interprets them.

Is my data private?

Google Play's Data safety section says PoopAI collects and shares no data, encrypts data in transit and lets you request deletion. The App Store label says contact info may be linked to you and health data is not. The full policy is at docs.haaatch.com/privacy.
